a new year, a new EP
Announcing the release of a 5 song EP we recorded at The Trailer before it was forced to close its doors. The studio was bulldozed to make room for some East End Condos, but that’s not nearly the most interesting Trailer story. It is also where we filmed the Southern Souls videos for Miles To Morning. There ought to be a book about this iconic studio. I could see a couple chapters in the Del Fis biography. There’s a great bio-pic filmed by Mitch Fillion of Southern Souls on the Trailer floating around. Check it out if you have the time.
On October 8th the six of us snuck inside The Trailer for one last session and recorded 5 songs live off the floor. There was myself on guitar, Aaron Comeau on bass, Jason Kenemy on piano, Alan Zemaitis on organ, and two drummers Kyle Sullivan and Brent Norman.
The title track and first single off of Dan Mock’s newest release “One Foot On The Track” is a spontaneous live recording inspired by the funky psychedelic blues of the 60s and influenced by bands like The Meters, Freddy King, and The Allman Brothers Band. It is now out on Spotify, Apple Music, and at all worldwide digital distributers.
Venues may not be open yet, but we have shows! The spring 2022 tours in Europe are fully booked and this time I feel they are gonna stick! In the meantime I’m playing every Friday at Dora’s on the Danforth and some Saturdays. Larger scale outdoor shows and recording with Jerry Leger has picked up again and much to announce in the coming weeks. I’m feeling grateful to have these things back in my life again. I’ll keep ya posted!
